City of Centerville September 22, 2004 Council Meeting Minutes Motion by Council Member Capra, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve Resolution #04-044 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES 1. Public Works Staffing Update Ms. Moore-Sykes reviewed the memo provided by Mr. Palzer with Council. Council Member Lee asked if overtime is necessary or if another employee should be hired. Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that Mr. Palzer continues to have some overtime with inspections and some with administration. Council Member Capra asked who is handling inspections. Ms. Moore-Sykes explained that Joel is handling them but he has been out this week so Mr. Palzer is handing them. Mayor Sweeney read a thank you note from John Thill thanking the City for making the 2004 Fete des Lacs parade a success. He then noted that planning has begun for next year’s festival and asked that anyone interested in planning the parade please contact the City. Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the Centerville Business Women’s group expressed some interest in planning the parade. Mayor Sweeney recommended that Staff ask them to discuss the matter with the Lions Club. Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the mailbox issue at Eagle Pass cottages has been dropped. The Police Governing Board is meeting October 15, 2004 at Lexington City Hall. Council Member Paar asked whether the Ojibway drainage situation had been taken care of. Mr. Peterson indicated that the project has not been completed but the area was dug out and it drains. He then said that they will be back to install the sod. Council Member Lee asked whether the skate park pad has been resolved. Mr. Peterson indicated it had been fixed and there are no puddles when it rains. Page 8 of 9
