City of Centerville <br />September 22, 2004 <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />Motion by Council Member Capra, seconded by Council Member Paar to approve <br />Resolution #04-044 as presented. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />IX. ANNOUNCEMENTS/UPDATES <br /> <br />1. Public Works Staffing Update <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes reviewed the memo provided by Mr. Palzer with Council. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee asked if overtime is necessary or if another employee should be <br />hired. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that Mr. Palzer continues to have some overtime with <br />inspections and some with administration. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked who is handling inspections. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes explained that Joel is handling them but he has been out this week so <br />Mr. Palzer is handing them. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney read a thank you note from John Thill thanking the City for making the <br />2004 Fete des Lacs parade a success. He then noted that planning has begun for next <br />year’s festival and asked that anyone interested in planning the parade please contact the <br />City. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the Centerville Business Women’s group expressed <br />some interest in planning the parade. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney recommended that Staff ask them to discuss the matter with the Lions <br />Club. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that the mailbox issue at Eagle Pass cottages has been <br />dropped. <br /> <br />The Police Governing Board is meeting October 15, 2004 at Lexington City Hall. <br /> <br />Council Member Paar asked whether the Ojibway drainage situation had been taken care <br />of. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated that the project has not been completed but the area was dug out <br />and it drains. He then said that they will be back to install the sod. <br /> <br />Council Member Lee asked whether the skate park pad has been resolved. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated it had been fixed and there are no puddles when it rains. <br /> <br />Page 8 of 9 <br /> <br />
