Currently, all staff members that are participating in this insurance plan
take Health Partners and are participating at the Family level of coverage.

The City's current monthly insurance allotment is $406 for family coverage. If you will
remember, this item was discussed at some length during the budget process and was to
be considered prior to renewal and when figures became available. The figures contained
in the 2002 budget for the line item health insurance were $500/month per employee.

The City has chosen not to increase its monthly allotment for approximately two (2) years
with insurance premiums consistently increasing. In the year 2001 staff membeJ's were
paying approximately 30% of their health insurance premium with the City contributing
approximately 70%.

If the City were to approve the budgeted monthly allotment of $500 per month, staff
members would pay approximately 27% and the City would contribute approximately
73%. If the City desires not to increase the monthly allotment, staff members would pay
approximately 40% and the City's contribution approximately 60%.
