<br />City involvement in airport security <br />lMCff liability coverage may not cover claims <br /> <br />Pete Tritz <br /> <br />A number of city police departments <br />either already are or expect to become <br />involved in providing airport security <br />services in connection with scheduled <br />passenger flights leaving a regional <br />airport. The city officers would be <br />replacing the National Guard persou- <br />nel who have been performing these <br />functious. lt is extremely important to <br />be aware that the city's existing <br /> <br />LMCIT liability coverage may not <br />cover some liability claims arising <br />from these activities. <br />We understand the importance of <br />having regional air service, and that in <br />some cases the ouly alternative may <br />be for city police to perform these <br />security activities.
