Water-Oriented Accessory Structure or Facility - A small above ground building or other improvement except stairways, fences, docks, and retaining walls, which, because of the relationship of its use to a surface water feature, reasonably needs to be located closer to public waters than the normal structure setback. Examples of such structures and facilities include boathouses, gazebos, screen houses, fish houses, pump houses, and detached decks. Wetland - Lands transitional between terrestrial and aquatic systems where the water table is usually at or near the surface or the land or is covered by shallow water. For purposes of this definition, wetlands must have the following three characteristics: A. Predominance of hydric soils; and B. Are inundated or saturated by surface or groundwater at a frequency and duration sufficient to support a prevalence of hydrophytic vegetation typically adapted for life in saturated soil conditions; and C. Under normal circumstances support a prevalence of such vegetation. Yard - A required open space on a lot which is unoccupied and unobstructed from the ground upward, except as otherwise provided for herein. The measurement of a yard shall be construed as the minimum horizontal distance between the lot line and the building line. On a corner lot the street address or narrowest street dimension of the street shall be the front yard. The other street frontage will be considered a front yard for principal structure setbacks and a side yard for purposes of cal~ulating setbacks for accessory structures. 1 Yard, Rear - A yard extending along a side lot line between the front and rear yard lot line, having a width as specified in the yard regulations for the district in which such lot is located.
