World Wide Web Policy I DRAFT 12/fJ/97 ' Purpose The eily of Hopkins provides accessible information SClVices to the public through a 24-hour interactive World Wide Web site. Coordination and Design The City Manager's Office coordilllltes the city's Web site and assists citydepartmenrs in making infonnation available on the Web. The COlllmunity Relations Coordinator shall design the city's Web site to proville a consistent graphic look., which is easy to navigate and accessible to the public. My other Web pages and their information produced by or for city departments shall con fOnD to this design standard. The Community Relations coordinator is the primary contact polson for building and programming the Web site. Developers of any other Web peges inlanded for publication on the city's Web site need to meet the guidelines IlJ1d responsibilities outlined in this policy and the cumnt Wlhnical standards. Domain Name City departments shall use the city's domain name (which likely will be ci.hopkins.mn_us) for World Wide Web activity related to city business or services. Department also may use the foilowing convention for Web site addresses: (whicb likely will be www.cLhooklns.ll1Il_usldeo=e.) Content The City Manager's Office will coordinate with departmel'lu to provide the tools, training and other assistam;e ao those departments can publish and mail'ltain their informadon on the Web. Content standards Allsubjec;t m~er and their links on rhe city's Web site must relate to information about the city ofHcpl<ins, Quality All work must be free of spelling and grammatical errors, The information may not contain objcctionable material or point directly to objectionable material. Responsibilities .
