City of CenterviJIe Council Meeting Minutes May 22, 2002 Mr. Rehbein indicated the lift station would need to be moved along with two county culverts which is a costly endeavor. Mayor Swedberg indicated Mr. Carpenter would be asked to attend the next Council meeting to give his version of the situation. He then noted that Council intended to make a decision on this matter at that meeting or the following meeting. Mr. Black thanked Council for its consideration. Council Member Broussard Vickers commented that she thinks Mr. Carpenter is looking at how much money the developer stands to make on the properties to be sold and feels that he should be compensated because it was not his error that created this problem with the road. Mr. Black indicated he was willing to pay fair market value for the property. Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated that Mr. Carpenter does not have to ask fair market value for his property. She then commented that the City will prosper, the developer will prosper and Mr. Carpenter wants to prosper as well Mr. Hughback commented that they have five contracts at $1.75 per square foot. V. CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES I. May 8. 2002 Council Meeting Minutes Council Member Capra handed out the executive session minutes. Council asked that the executive session minutes be added to the regular meeting minutes. Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded by Council Member Capra to approve the May 8. 2002 Council Minutes as amended to include the executive session minutes. AU in favor. Motion carried unanimously. VI. PETITIONS AND COMPLAINTS None. VII. OLD BUSINESS 1. Mound Trail Mr. Buechler addressed Council and indicated he was surprised by the $50,000 quote from Frattalone to construct the road. He also commented that the process is going to cost him and the City more money because the road was not constructed last year. Page 5 of 15
