<br />SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> <br />1. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project provides for seal coating the streets shown on the <br />attached plan. <br /> <br />A bituminous aggregate (pea rock) seal coat is to be applied to all streets in the project. Prior to the <br />seal coat, City forces will seal cracks. <br /> <br />2. OWNER: The City of Centerville is designated as the OWNER. All work shall be located on <br />public right-of-way, and shall be coordinated with the Consulting City ENGINEER and Mr. Paul <br />Palzer, Director of Public Works (Telephone No. 651-429-4750). <br /> <br />3. COMPLETION DATE: The Centerville City Council is scheduled to award this project at its' <br />meeting on June 12, 2002. It is expected that the CONTRACTOR will begin work on this project <br />immediately, following execution of a contract with the OWNER and the holding of a <br />preconstruction conference. . All'*orkshall~' t!ompleted'by July 19,2002. <br /> <br />4. LIOUIDA TED DAMAGES: Liquidated damages as specified in the Conditions of the Contract <br />shall be One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) per calendar day. <br /> <br />5. UTILITIES: The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the protection of all utilities during <br />operations. Particular attention must be given to manhole covers, gate valve box covers, and catch <br />basins. Any materials from the activities performed under this contract found in these structures <br />shall be removed by the CONTRACTOR with no compensation allowed. All costs for protective <br />measures shall be incidental to the project. <br /> <br />It shall be the responsibility ofthe CONTRACTOR to locate any and all private utilities as necessary <br />to perform the required improvements. <br /> <br />6. TRAFFIC: Traffic control shall be the responsibility of the CONTRACTOR, including flag <br />persons, barricades, flares and safety measures. Furnish, erect, and maintain all necessary traffic <br />control devices required to provide safe movement of vehicular traffic on the project. Maintain <br />reasonable access to property owners at all times. Provide a minimum 24-hour notice to residents <br />abutting the project streets so parked vehicles can be moved on the day of seal coating. <br /> <br />7. SPECIFICATION REFERENCE: Where the Minnesota Department of Transportation <br />specifications are referred to herein and where a reference to the word "State" is mentioned, it is <br />understood that the word "Owner" is substituted. All reference to the word "Engineer" shall be <br />interpreted as the Consultant ENGINEER for the City of Centerville. MnDOT "Standard <br />Specifications for Construction," 2000 Edition. <br /> <br />8. WATER: The CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for the furnishing and placement of all <br />water required on the project.
