<br />-, <br /> <br />Arrangements should be made by the employee to <br />pay the employee's portion during the leave. <br /> <br />10-4 Return from Leave .....ithout Pay of Absence. <br /> <br />Employees receiving Icovo 'Nithout poy unpaid leave of absence for <br />illness, temporary disability, or child care will be returned to the original <br />position or one of similar status and salary. Employees receiving leave <br />'.IIithout pay unpaid leave of absence in excess of sixty (60) days or for <br />reasons other than illness, temporary disability, or child care cannot be <br />guaranteed return to their original or similar position. <br /> <br />If the original position or a position of similar or lesser status and salary is <br />available, it may be offered at the discretion of the department head. <br />Employees will not accrue seniority during the period(s) of 103'.'0 without <br />f*iY unpaid leave of absence. <br /> <br />11 OTHER LEAVES OF ABSENCE <br /> <br />11.1 Military Leave <br /> <br />Minnesota Statutes, Sections 192.26 and 192.261 provide that an <br />employee of afl municipality wAe which is a member of the National <br />Guard, the Naval Militia, the Officer's Reserve Corps, the Naval Reserve, <br />the Marine Corps, or any other reserve component of the military or naval <br />forces of the United States, is entitled to a leave of absence without loss of <br />pay, seniority status, efficiency rating, or benefits for the time such <br />employee is engaged in training or active service not exceeding a total of <br />fifteen (15} days in any calendar year. <br /> <br />The leave of absence is only in the event the employee returns to <br />employment immediately upon being relieved from military or naval <br />service or is prevented from returning by physical or metal mental <br />disability or other cause not the fault of the employee, or is required by the <br />proper authority to continue in military or naval service beyond the fifteen <br />f 15} day period allowed for the paid leave of absence. <br /> <br />Notice will be given to the City at least fifteen f.1ill working days in <br />advance of the requested leave. Notice may be waived under certain <br />circumstances. <br /> <br />In accordance with State law, the employee will be granted an unpaid <br />leave of absence when called into active duty. If an employee has not yet <br />used their fifteen f.1ill of paid leave when called to active duty, any unused <br />paid time will be allowed prior to the unpaid leave of absence. <br />
