<br />>Ifit ain't broke... <br /> <br />We have some strategies that have been successful. We plan to continue handing out <br />cross-promotional flyers at van shoots, mailing PR kits, producing a monthly newsletter, <br />working to have City Scope promos printed in city newsletters, and being involved with <br />our local chambers of commerce. <br /> <br />>Newtricks <br /> <br />It has become clear that promoting the Media Center has become a job unto itself. <br />When we created a full-time assistant position for the Facility Coordinator, the job <br />description for the Facility Coordinator changed to include some promotional <br />responsibilities. The job still included keeping an eye on scheduling, master control, <br />classes, and helping the public in the mornings. Going forward, we're going to try <br />shifting those responsibilities a bit, in an attempt to free up more time for promotional <br />work. In so doing, not only will we be able to continue with the successful promotional <br />projects we've already developed, we'll also have time to explore some new options. <br /> <br />" Continue with the promotional pieces that have worked for us <br />'" Create customizable presentation kit <br />'" Make informational presentations to organizations and clubs using kit <br />" Provide quarterly articles to city newsletters <br />" Encourage coverage in local newspapers <br />"Participate in all local parades <br />" Develop strategy for showing appreciation to various Media Center supporters <br />'" It will be the year of the video promo <br />"A new, original, newsletter format <br /> <br /> <br />Last year we took a few more steps toward becoming a digital facility. staff is now able <br />to acquire and edit programs in the digital format. A non-linear edit suite and digital <br />acquisition equipment were put into place for the general public to use, and, two DVCPro <br />decks were wired into the studio control room. Other equipment improvements included <br />upgrades to the Com pix graphics system in the truck, new graphics computer and <br />software in the studio control room, an upgraded Scala system for chaimel15 and 57 <br />data pages, and video signal test equipment. <br /> <br />We've made a good start toward upgrading our video production equipment, but we <br />need to take a giant step in the upcoming year.
