These are the units <br />that provide breathing air to the firefighters when fighting a <br />fire. We are reaching the end of the useful life of these <br />units and there are several safety improvements that are <br />available on the new units available today. <br /> <br />The fire district had set aside $100,000 for 800 MHZ <br />radios in the capital equipment fund that we will not need <br />to use. We would like to use $95,000 of the capital <br />equipment fund to purchase new SCBA units for the Fire <br />District. <br /> <br />This was presented to the Fire District Steering <br />Committee on November 14, 2002. Due to no quorum <br />present, we are asking that each city council approve the <br />purchase ofthe new SCBA units for a total of$95,000. <br /> <br />~ . <br />
