<br />1--:E:-0~-~00: 13:27 <br /> <br />coT .toN/ RFUFNIIF <br /> <br />6512971754 P,04/06 <br /> <br />State of Minnesota <br /> <br />County of Anoka <br /> <br />City of <br /> <br />Resolution # <br /> <br />(your appropriate number) <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CENTENNIAL LAKES POLICE COMMISSION <br />AUTHORITY TO INCUR COSTS NOT TO EXCEED $30,000, PRO-AA TED BY THE US <br />CENSUS POPULATION ESTIMATE OF EACH CITY, TO REQUEST PROPOSALS, HIRE <br />, INDEPENDENT CONSULTANTS, PREPARE FINDINGS, AND MAKE <br />RECOMMENDATIONS TO SOLVE THE IMMEDIATE HEALTH CONCERNS OF <br />EMPLOYEES AND DETERMINE LONGER-TERM RECOMMENDATIONS FOR pOLIce <br />FACILITIES. <br /> <br />. WHEREAS, the employees of the Centennial Lakes Police Department voiced their concerns <br />through a signed letter dated November 14, 2002, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Commission deems health and safety issues an urgent priority, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Commission does not have a line item in the 2003 budget, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Commission does not have the required staff or expertise to address <br />the concems stated in the employee letter dated November 14, 2002, <br /> <br />THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED that the Cities of Centetville, Circle Pines and <br />Lexington authorize the Centennial Lakes Police Commission, authority to incur costs not to <br />exceed $30,000, pro-rated by the US census population estimate of each city, to prepare <br />Requests for Proposals, hire independent consultants, prepare findings, and make <br />recommendations to solve the immediate health concerns of employees and determine <br />longer-term recommendations for police facilities, and, <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Finance Director of the City of CenterviUe will prepare <br />all of the necessary Request for Proposal criteria and documentation in cooperation with the <br />Police Commission and Chief, advertise the request, and properly award the contract, and, <br /> <br />BE iT FURTHER RESOLVeD. that the Police Commission act with due diligence, inform <br />Council's of progress, and prepare a joint meeting of the Commission and Council's of <br />Centerville, Circle Pines, and Lexington as results become available. <br /> <br />Passed by the City Council of the City of <br />December, 20Q2. <br /> <br />this _ day of <br /> <br />A nEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />yt, <br />
