<br />Employee Concerns <br />Voiced by Gerry Rismoen, CLPD Employee <br />At Police Commission Meeting November 14, 2002 <br /> <br />Following are the notes taken of Ms. Rismoen's comments before the Commission. <br />They were not presented as priorities, but a list of concerns. <br /> <br />1. The facility was originally built for 8 people <br />2. They have common bathroom facilities and prisoners use those facilities as well <br />3. They no longer have space for lockers - just a hook on the wall <br />4. No lunch room <br />5. The facility floods in a heavy rain, they have to open doors which makes the facility <br />unsecure <br />6. Mold problems <br />7. The upstairs men's urinal overflows above Gerry's desk <br />8. The squad room has no counter space <br />9. Inadequate mail space <br />10. Safety issues when employees are in close quarters with prisoners <br />11. Public has to come through private records area to visit Chief <br />12. Fire code and OSHA violations <br />13. No handicapped facilities <br />14. No interrogation room <br />15. No booking area or secure holding cell <br />16. No juvenile holding area <br />17. Overcrowded and inadequate facility for current size work force <br />
