All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />VI. A W ARDSIPRESENT ATIONS/APPEARANCES <br /> <br />I. Mr. Shannon Sweenev. David Drown and Associates <br /> <br />Mr. Sweeney appeared to present a proposal to the City Council for Financial Advisor. <br />Some of the highlights of David Drown and Associates that he mentioned were: <br />Most of its 6 employees work specifically in economic development and tax <br />increment and have a long tenure with the company <br />Serve about 130 local governments in Minnesota <br />Bring clear expectations - Describe the process up front <br />Do an excellent job of controlling costs <br />When they quote a price, they stick by that price. If minor tangents come up along <br />the way, the price remains the same. <br />Experienced with the finance work <br /> <br />Mr. Sweeney encouraged the Councilmembers to contact their references. <br /> <br />2. Mr. George Eilertson. Northland Securities <br /> <br />Mr. Eilertson appeared to present a proposal to the City Council for Financial Advisor. <br />Some of the highlights of Northland Securities that he mentioned were: <br />Served Centerville from 2000 - 2005, at which time they helped the City with a <br />number of bond issues <br />Received the first ever bond rating. <br />Would assist the City's new Finance Director. <br /> <br />Mr. Eilertson stated that Northland Securities does their homework and believes it is a <br />good fit for the City. <br /> <br />3. Mr. Mark Ruff. Ehlers & Associates <br /> <br />Mr. Ruff appeared to present a proposal to the City Council for Financial Advisor. Some <br />of the highlights of Ehlers & Associates that he mentioned were: <br />Employee owned company, with 40 people in the Minneapolis office <br />Pride for being individual advisors <br />Can help with the Legislature <br />For redevelopment, they put together plans, implement plans and get the project <br />done <br /> <br />Page 5 of 10 <br /> <br />12 <br />
