<br />1153.04 CONFLICT. <br /> <br />Where the conditions imposed by any provisions of this chapter are either more or <br />less restrictive than comparable conditions imposed by any other regulation, the <br />regulations which impose the higher standard or requirements shall prevail. <br /> <br />1153.05 DEFINITIONS. <br /> <br />For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the <br />context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning. <br /> <br />ALLEY. A public right-of-way which affords a secondary means of access to <br />abutting property. <br /> <br />BLOCK. A tract of land bounded by streets or a combination of streets, parks, <br />cemeteries, railroad rights-of-way, shorelines, waterways or corporation boundary line of <br />the city. <br /> <br />BOUNDARY LINES. The line also indicating the bounds of limits of any tract or <br />parcel of land <br /> <br />BUILDING LINES. The line also referred to as SETBACK LINE means the line <br />beyond which property owners or others have no legal or vested right to extend a <br />building or any part thereof without special permission and approval of the proper <br />authorities. <br /> <br />BUTT LOT. A lot, the sideline of which coincides with the back line of 1 or more <br />other lots. . <br /> <br />CITY IMPROVEMENTS. Improvements to be installed by the city as provided in <br />this chapter and/or the development agreement and financed through assessments <br />procedures. <br /> <br />COMPREHENSIVE PLAN. The comprehensive development plan made and <br />adopted by the city indicating the general locations recommended for major <br />thoroughfares, streets, parks, public buildings, zoning districts and other public <br />improvements. <br /> <br />CONTOUR MAP. A map on which irregularities of land surface are shown by lines <br />connecting points of equal elevations. Contour intervals are the vertical heights between <br />contour lines. <br /> <br />CORNER LOTS. The lot or lots within a plat and situated at the comers thereof so <br />that they are bounded on 2 sides by streets. This term applies to any lot within the plat at <br />street intersections and bounded on 2 sides by streets. <br /> <br />CROSS-WALK. A right-of-way, municipally owned, which cuts across a block to <br />furnish access for pedestrians to the adjacent street or properties. . <br /> <br />C~DE-SAC . Court or dead-end street; a short minor street having 1 end open to <br />traffic and being permanently terminated by a ve.hicular turnaround <br /> <br />3 <br />
