Purchase of an Additional Election Booth <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Nelson. seconded by Council Member Broussard <br />Vickers to approve the Consent A2enda as presented. AU in favor. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />X. COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> <br />Council Member Travis reported that the planning and Zoning Commi..'lion is looking at <br />Ordinances 70, 71, and 63. <br /> <br />Xl. ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT <br /> <br />Mr. PaJzer asked for approval of an overweight permit for the City's landscaping service. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member <br />Capra to ap~rove an overwei2ht permit for Valley Creek Lawn Service. All in <br />favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Council discussed the issue of wine being served at Hair Update, noted the Police Chief <br />had indicated a liquor license is required to do so, and asked that Staff inform Hair <br />Update of the need to either apply for a liquor license or cease providing wine to its <br />customers. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked how the City could control undesirable uses within the City. <br /> <br />City Attorney Hoeft explained that certain uses are aUowed in certain zoning areas and <br />the City can determine what is aIIowed in each zoning area. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked whether Council needed to act on the request <br />for condemnation proceedings to clear up the access issue on 21 st Avenue. <br /> <br />Council agreed that since the City has invested in infrastmcture it would make sense to <br />work with Mr. Evansteiner to agree on a cost sharing should the City decide to institute <br />eminent domain prol"~it1gs. <br /> <br />Council directed Staff to invite Mr. Evansteiner to a meeting to give his side of the story <br />as well as Mr. Carpenter but indicated separate meeting dates would be preferable. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked for legal research on eminent domain in this type of situation for <br />review. <br /> <br />Council suggested he look the matter up on the Internet rather than paying the City <br />Attorney to provide information to him. <br /> <br />Page 9 ofIO <br /> <br />, <br />
