<br />I - <br /> <br />City of Centerville Ord #24 <br />Effective: 10/27/99 <br /> <br />each animal with a collar to which the license tag must be affixed, and shall <br />see that the collar and tag are worn. In case an animal tag is lost or destroyed, <br />a duplicate sbalI be issued by the City. A charge shall be made for each <br />duplicate tag. Animal tags sbalI not be transferable from one an;"",) to <br />another and no refunds sbalI be made on any animal license :fee or tag because <br />of death of an animal or the owner's leaving the City before the expiration of <br />the license period. <br /> <br />(3) The licensing provisions of this Subdivision sbaIl not apply to ani"",]g <br />whose owners are non-residents temporarily within the City, nor to ani"",]. <br />brought into the City fur the purpose of participating in any animal show, nor <br />shall this provision apply to animals specifically trained fur and actually <br />providing assistance to the physica1ly challenged. <br /> <br />(4) Address Change. An applicant who has obtained a license shall notifY the <br />City of applicants address change within corporate limits of the City within <br />thirty (30) days of any address change. <br /> <br />(5) Counterfeit Tags. No person shall counterfuit, attempt to counterfeit, or <br />attach any counterfeit tag to any dog, cat and ferret in the City. <br /> <br />Subd. 3 Pigeons. No person sbaIl keep four (4) or more pigeons on a premises, without first <br />obtaining a license as provided in this Section, and no person shall keep or harbor pigeons except in <br />compliance with this Section. <br /> <br />(1) As used in this Section the term pigeon includes any and all varieties of <br />pigeons. The term loft includes any and all quarters in which pigeons are <br />housed. <br /> <br />(2) Application fur a license to keep pigeons shall be made to City Staff on <br />such furms as the City Staff may provide. The application sbalI be <br />investigated by the admin;~tive staff of the City to determine compliance <br />with the Ordinance of the City and sball then be refurred to the City Council <br />which sball have the discretion to grant or deny the license. The Council sball <br />conduct a public hearing if needed. In making such determination, the <br />Council shall take into consideration, among other things, the fullowing: the <br />adequacy of the housing fur the pigeons; the methods to be used fur AA11itarion <br />and to maintain quiet; and, any violations during the previous license period, if <br />applicable. The Council may also impose such conditions as it deems <br />necessary and appropriate to carry out the intent of this ordinance. <br /> <br />Page 4 of 16 <br />
