STAFF REPORT
CENTERVILLE CITY COUNCIL

Date:

March 24, 2004

To:

Honorable Mayor and City Council Members
Ms. Kim Moore-Sykes, City Administrator

Ellen Paulseth, Finance Director <2f?

From:

Re:

Payment Drop Box

************************************************************************

The current Centerville Capital Improvement Plan provides for replacement of the
payment drop box outside of city hall.

After reviewing several options, the staff has chosen a heavy-duty stainless steel model
that will be secured in-ground by a cement pad. As shown in the attached
documentation, the box will hold up to 300 payments and will be protected from damage
by 2 stainless steel protector posts.

The Public Works Department has agreed to install the box and cement pad.

The total cost of the payment box and accessories is $1,573, plus sales tax and shipping.
The budget amount is $2,000.

We were unable to fmd a similar quality stainless steel box for comparison; however, we
compared 2 other steel models. Staff feels that stainless steel will endure the elements for
a longer period of time.

We request a motion to purchase and install the new drop box.
