<br />. ~ <br /> <br />· Coordinate City Council meeting activities under the direction of the City Administrator by <br />preparing meeting agendas, compiling and delivering meeting packets to Council, providing a <br />written record of Council meeting minutes, preparing public notices and coordinating <br />appropriate distribution and/or publication of the same. <br />Organizational Responsibility <br />· This position is expected to treat co-workers, residents, City officials, business owners and <br />the general public in a friendly, respectful and professional manner. <br /> <br />PERIPHERAL DUTIES: <br />· Attends professional development workshops and conferences to keep current of updated <br />information on trends, technology and development associated with City Administration. <br />· Keeps up to date on changes to Minnesota Statutes that affect the City of Centerville. <br /> <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Education and Experience <br />· Minimum of high school graduation and four (4) years experience in a progressively <br />responsible municipal office position or two (2) years of college or business school and <br />two (2) years experience as deputy clerk. <br /> <br />DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Education and Experience <br />. City Clerk's Certificate <br />. Notary <br /> <br />NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKlLLS AND ABILITIES: <br />. Considerable knowledge of city government structure and organization. <br />· Knowledge of city procedures, ordinances and other laws, rules and regulations goveming <br />municipalities. <br />· Considerable knowledge of records maintenance and retention procedures and the legal <br />requirements for record keeping and retention. <br />· Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective, respectful and professional working <br />relationships with supervisors, elected officials, co-workers, subordinates, candidates and the <br />general public, some of whom may be hostile. <br />· Ability to apply concepts of information technology to procedures while ensuring compliance <br />with legal requirements. <br />· Considerable ability to operate standard work processing, spreadsheet, database, and other <br />software packages to organize reports and analyze and solve problems. <br />. Considerable ability to plan and organize work. <br />· Considerable ability to deal with complex detail involved in processing and storing Council <br />proceedings and records. <br />. Considerable skill in verbal and written communication. <br />. Ability to arrive to work on time. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REQillREMENTS: <br />A valid state driver's license or ability to obtain one within three months. <br /> <br />3 <br />
