<br />· Review and verifY signatures on docwnents, ensuring they comply with legal requirements; <br />serve as a notary for City Council, staff and residents. <br />· Responsible for maintaining all records, office supplies, charts, maps, policies, ordinances, <br />etc., in an accurate and organized manner. <br />. Assists with front desk duties including answering direct public inquiries via telephones or <br />walk-ins, understanding that the City Clerk is often the first point of contact with the City's <br />residents and the public. <br />· Responsible for the City's elections in conjunction with and in accordance to all election <br />laws. This position provides for the recruiting and the training of the election judges; <br />supervising election judges; coordination of election activities; maintains the operation of the <br />election equipment; act as the City's election representative to the County and the State; keep <br />current with State and federal election laws, regulations and requirements. The City Clerk <br />notifies City officials of their election/appointment status; certifies all elected municipal <br />officials to the County Auditor and performs all required elections duties. <br />. Responsible for issuing and tracking licensing for liquor, tobacco, charitable gambling, <br />animals, building, mechanical, plwnbing and electrical permits, garbage hauling, rental and <br />any other licensing requirements as established by the City, county, state or federal agencies.. <br />. As the City's Recycling Coordinator, the incumbent organizes the City's recycling program <br />and events. <br />. Coordinate and prepare articles for quarterly news letter; coordinate and prepare public <br />hearing notices, budget summaries and other legal documents as required, for publication in <br />the City's legal newspaper. <br />. Coordinate and assist in the maintenance of the City's assessment records, searches, payoffs <br />and current year balances. The City Clerk is responsible for sending appropriate assessments <br />reports to the County Assessor's Office. <br />. Request, review, analyze and summarize reports, statutes, and similar materials as requested <br />by the City Administrator. <br />. Assist the City Administrator with zoning administration, such as ordinance revisions, <br />comprehensive land use plan amendments and other planning or zoning issues. <br />. Other duties as assigned. <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />External Relationships with the Public <br />. Establishes a good working relationship with clear respectful communications with citizens, <br />businesses, commissions, consultants and representatives from other political subdivisions. <br />. Represents the City to external groups in ways which enhance the image of Centerville and <br />serve the best interest of the City. <br />. Assures open communication, encouraging residents and businesses to be heard by the <br />Council. <br />. Prepares the releases of information for the public as directed by the City Administrator. <br />. Performs other duties as assigned. <br /> <br />Relationship with Council <br />. May be required to attend after-hour meetings of City Council, Commissions, etc., as <br />assigned or needed. <br />
