<br />Request for Program <br />Participation and Support <br /> <br /> <br />MINNESOTA WATER <br />LET'S KEEP IT CLEAN <br /> <br />June 24, 2004 <br /> <br />Kim Moore-Sykes <br />MS4 Stormwater Permit Contact <br />City of Centerville, Minnesota <br /> <br />Dear Kim, <br /> <br />Utilizing grant funding, Metro WaterShed Partners launched the Minnesota Water - Let's Keep it Clean <br />program last fall. The program's mission is to improve water quality by assisting cities and other MS4's <br />in their stormwater education efforts. <br /> <br />Our accomplishments to date include: <br /> <br />. Creation of the Minnesota Water - Let's Keep it Clean slogan and logo <br /> <br /> <br />. Fall 2003 "Lake Patricia" print ad and the Pioneer Press and Star Tribune <br /> <br /> <br />. Additional coverage of "Lake Patricia" ad in message on TV 5 and Public Radio <br /> <br /> <br />. Spring 2004 ad in the DNR's Fishing Regulation booklet <br /> <br /> <br />. Spring 2004 "Green Crayon" ad in 11 metro area community papers <br /> <br /> <br />. Spring 2004 "Algae World" radio ad. Full ad played 274 times, PSA played 90 times. <br /> <br /> <br />. Creation of www.cleanwatermn.org web site; a stormwater education resource center for MS4s, <br /> <br />students, teachers, and citizens. Over 4,000 website visits have been recorded. <br /> <br />Currently we are expanding the resources offered to cities and other MS4s on the www.cleanwatermn.org <br />website. When completed in July, the website will provide a repository for ready to use or adapt articles, <br />photographs, presentations, posters and print ads. <br /> <br />OUf grant funding fromthc Metropolitan Council, Minnesota Office of Environment a! Assistan~e and <br />Minnesota Pollution Control AgeIlcy is coming to an end, andwe are seeking funding to continue the <br />work that we have started. To that end, we are asking cities and other MS4s to contribute to the program <br />with existing stormwater funds, or to include support for the program in their 2005 budget. <br /> <br />Depending On the funding raised, Metro WaterShed Partners will provide the following services in this <br />order of priority: <br /> <br />I. Maintain and grow the www.cleanwatermn.org website with updated and new materials <br />2. Create ready-to-use print and radio ads for MS4 use <br />3.
