I have forwarded a letter to the owner of the property requesting that the grass be
cut within 30 days.

I have to allow this 30-day time period for due process and the grass length does not
constitute as a health and safety issue. A 30 day period for action is standard.

The City's records indicate that you have contacted us in regards to the length of the
grass on one other occasion; June 24,2003. At that time, I forwarded the complaint to
the City Deputy Weed Inspector Mr. Pall) Palzer. Mr. Patzer completed a visual
inspection of the property and reported that the grass height was not a violation.

Our records also indicate two (2) complaints on file for not being kept up in 1993. The
City of Centerville processes Ordinance violations by complaint only and does not have a
code enforcement officer that visually inspects residentiaIlcommerciaIlindustrial
properties for violations. We do however; rely on residents to keep us informed of the
progress of the owner if there have been ongoing problems with the property. We will,
on occasion, provide sporadic inspections for those same properties if issues persist.

I apologize if you feel that I have not been responsive to your needs in the past. I have
enclosed a copy of Ordinance #54 relating to weeds and growing grasses for your review.
It is also my understanding that you have some concerns regarding window coverings at
the same residence. The City does not have an ordinance that covers this issue. I can
forward a letter to residents only when a violation exists.

It is very difficult for residents to reside next to a home that does not maintain their
property similar to neighboring standards. I would like to take an opportunity to provide
you with some information regarding Mediation Services. I have enclosed a booklet for
your review. I will also enclose a booklet for the resident at 1832 Hayfield Road. Please
