I will drive by and take a look. So to my
understanding this is the first complaint we have on record since 1998? I am certain you will have Paul check out
the property and sending a letter if warranted that the problem if any needs to be corrected. If the resident should
have so many days to correct the problem.

If it is in violation of our ordinance I personally feel you and Paul have to power to enforce our ordinances without
further council action. I don't remember how much you all are authorized to spend without council approval
though.

Mary Capra

-----Original Message-----
From: Kim Moore-Sykes [mailto:ksykes@centervillemn.com]
Sent: Tuesday, July 20, 2004 2:20 PM
To: 'Paul Palzer'
Cc: Tom Lee; Jeff paar; Linda Broussard Vickers; Mary Capra; Terry Sweeney
SUbject: 1832 Hayfield

Wendy Olson, 1817 Houle Circle, was in this afternoon with pictures of the lawn at 1832 Hayfield. She
reported that she has been complaining about this property and its maintenance for 14 years. There is a
complaint in the address file from 1998, but Ms. Olson said that nothing has ever been done. She did say
that the owner did mow the lawn once this year but doesn't trim anything and it is all overgrown.

She talked to the mayor over the weekend and is demanding that something be done. Her phone number
is 651-426-6535.

Pictures are in your mailbox.

Kim

7/20/2004

....
