Remaining work

Date: June 15,2004

I met with Paul and Mike on Portage Way today, to discuss drainage issues. Over the past
several months, the City of Centerville has received numerous complaints from residents of the
Townhomes. Our goal was to show Mike Quigley the problem areas and try to resolve the
drainage problems.

The Spring of2004 has seen record rainfall amounts and many low lying areas in the city are
overflowing and remaining wet for long periods oftime. This is the case with the wetland area
to the east of Portage Way. For much of the month of May it was full of water and overflowing
in a ditch to the north to Dupre Road. At our meeting on 6/15/04, no water was flowing and very
little standing water was evident to the east of the townhomes along Portage;

My original plan from May, 2004 was to cut a swale or install draintile between the pine trees
behind Voyager Court. This option will not work. Therefore, the only route to take overflow
water from the wetland is towards Dupre Road. This is consistent with the original grading plan.
The City may want to consider installing a shallow catch basin and 100' of 12" diameter pipe to
collect the ditch runoffbefore it crosses the sidewalk on Dupre.

Behind 1819 Voyager Court, a pine tree was spaded and moved to another location about 30'
away. Paul palzer has stated that this tree must be removed from its present location.

At Ojibway Drive, Mike said he would have his field superintendent look at the low area to the
south of the townhomes. This area, where the original pine trees were left in place, is about 4"
lower than the Outlot between the townhome buildings. The developer will see if draintile can
be installed to help drain this area. He will also clean up any brush or wire fence material left in
the pine tree buffer area.

END MEMO
