<br />. <br /> <br />Citv of Centerville <br />lURING PROCEDURES <br /> <br />The City ofCenterville's recruitment and selection process grants equal employment <br />opportunity to employ the best applicant for each vacancy on merit. <br /> <br />It will therefore be the responsibility of City Administration to conduct the hiring process <br />according to the10llowing procedures and to provide uniformity and equal treatment of <br />all applicants. The department head is responsible for the fInal selection of the employee <br />that he/she determines will best meet the needs of the department. The following policies <br />and procedures for the hiring process have been established: <br /> <br />Full Time Employees <br /> <br />1. The department head will notifY the City Administrator of an opening and the <br />need to recruit, indicating the requirements he or she desires in the position. <br /> <br />2. The City Administrator reviews the current job description, as well as <br />requirements from the department head, and discusses a recruitment process <br />with the department head. <br /> <br />3. The department head will recommend to the City Administrator whether a <br />non-union position vacancy is to be posted internally or externally. <br />a. Internal postings will provide at least a ten (10) day period for <br />application. <br /> <br />b. External postings will provide at least seven (7) days for application <br />from the date of the initial advertisement. . <br /> <br />4. Applications will be received by the City Administrator and held until the <br />closing date for applications. <br /> <br />S. All applications are to be reviewed by the City Administrator and the <br />department supervisor(s). <br /> <br />6. The City Administrator and the department supervisor confer on a list oftop <br />applicants to be interviewed. <br /> <br />7. The City Administrator will arrange the interview schedule; provide all <br />interview materials as needed. <br /> <br />8. The City Administrator may require and conduct anyone or any combination <br />of the following testing methods as part of the interview process: <br /> <br />a. Scored, 1 00 - point interviews <br />
