The department is responsible for orientation of the new employee in the <br />department. <br /> <br />Part Time Employees <br /> <br />The employment process for part time employees generally follows the same <br />procedures as for full time employees, although the followiog deviations may apply at <br />the discretion of the City Administrator. Depending upon the complexity of the <br />position being filled, the City Administrator may, at its discretion, delegate to the <br />department responsibility for reviewiog applications, conducting interviews, and <br />selecting an applicant or applicants for hire. However, no job off should be made or <br />implied by the department head. Once a candidate has been selected, the department <br />head should notifY the City Administrator, giving the reason for selection of the <br />particular candidate and recommending a wage. <br /> <br />Temporary Employees - Rehire Process <br /> <br />The procedure for rehiring an employee who worked for the City of Centerville in the <br />same capacity within the last twelve (12) months is as follows: <br /> <br />1. During the temporary seasonal employee's last week of work, the supervisor will <br />complete the appropriate evaluation form. This form will be used in determining <br />whether an employee will be eligible for rehire based on performance. <br /> <br />2. Candidates are only eligible for the rehire application process if they were <br />employed in the same seasonal position during the previous season. An <br />individual who worked in one department would not be eligible to apply as a <br />rehire in a different position or department the next year or season. <br /> <br />Applicant Background Checks <br /> <br />In accordance with the City's Personnel Policy, the City ofCenterville may conduct a <br />background investigation of an applicant in accordance with the job requirements of a <br />position or as required by law. This may include investigation of past criminal <br />convictions by the Police Department or the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. <br />
