<br />City of Centerville <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br />May 22,2002 <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers indicated she liked the proposal but would like the <br />approval of minutes and consent agenda moved to the back of the meeting and public <br />hearings, appearances and Council business items moved forward. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg asked that FYI items not be placed on the dais on the day of the <br />meeting because it confuses Council as to what is FYI and what needs to be reviewed for <br />the meeting. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that FYI items would be placed in a folder marked FYI for <br />Council review. <br /> <br />4. Construction Update (Lloyd DrilIin!! & CenterVilla) <br /> <br />Jerry Engler of 7127 Shad Avenue indicated there was a meeting to discuss the drainage <br />issues and then, without telling him, excavation started and he has no idea what the plan <br />is. He further said that the only thing agreed to was that something needed to be done. <br /> <br />City Engineer Peterson indicated he was out at the property and the swale was discussed. <br />He then explained a swale was created at the back of both properties to get the water out <br />of Mr. Engler's backyard. <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />Mr. Engler commented that his yard looks temble and he wants Council to come take a <br />look. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra indicated there is still work to be done such as sodding and tree <br />planting. <br /> <br />Mr. Engler indicated he had called and asked for a retaining wall and Mr. Drilling told <br />him no it was not his problem. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked what Mr. Engler wanted the City and Mr. <br />Drilling to do. <br /> <br />Mr. Engler said he wanted his land brought up to level. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked why that is something that should be a City <br />responsibility as it has been that way for years. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated :final restoration work would need to be completed but said the <br />yard does drain to the catch basin. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers commented that draining water off of the property <br />solves the problem. <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg commented that Mr. Engler had asked that the berm be maintained and <br />it has and that the water be drained and the City Engineer has found a way to drain it. <br /> <br />Page 12 of1S <br />
