Mr. DeVine stated that they had recently leased the main floor level of the <br />building and offered the use ofhis conference room for the meeting. <br /> <br />Consensus was to hold the meeting on May IS, 2001 at 7:00 p.m. at Mr. DeVine's <br />Office. <br /> <br />4. Trail in Front of AppleTree Sauare <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson stated that there are two (2) options for the trail. One option is to pave over <br />the existing overlay of the trail. The maximum width of the trail would remain six (6) <br />feet wide. Mr. Peterson noted that three (3) drainage locations would need to be <br />installed. Mr. Peterson advised same to be concrete swales that would allow movement <br />of water across the trail and into the ditch. The second option is to :fill in the ditch and <br />make the trail eight (8) or ten (10) feet wide. The approximate cost for the first option <br />would be $3,000 and the second option would be $10,000 to $11,000. Mr. Peterson <br />stated that the second option would need Anolca County approval to :fill in the existing <br />ditch. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson questioned the possibility of using metal grates instead of <br />coucrete swales. Mr. Peterson explained that metal grates do not work well during the <br />freeze/thaw cycle and are not recommended. <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />Council Member Capra questioned whether the same option could be utilized for the new <br />strip mall development. Mr. Peterson stated that the trail would drain into a catch basin <br />at that site. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Nelson. seconded bv Council Member Capra to offer <br />the first option to Mr. Drillinl! for the trail on the west side of AppleTree Sauare. <br />All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers, seconded bv Council Member <br />Nelson to approve the commencement of acceptinl! Request for Bids rel!ardinl! the <br />Laurie LaMotte Memorial Park Electrical Plans based on any amendments from <br />the Parks and Recreation Committee. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. <br /> <br />XI. PUBLIC WORKS REPORT <br /> <br />1. 6961 Dupre Road (Drivewav Accessibility) <br /> <br />Mr. March stated that the City would incur $36S to rent a bobcat with a mill attachment <br />and trailer. It was anticipated that the project would take four (4) hours to complete. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra questioned whether the City incurred the expenditures with the <br />previous accessibility request. Mr. March stated that the equjpment had been donated <br />and the City had incurred minimaI expense for asphalt. <br /> <br />Page 8 ofI2 <br />
