(651) 429-8629 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04 - 040 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ELECTIONS JUDGES FOR THE UPCOMING PRIMARY & <br />GENERAL ELECTIONS (September 14, 2004 & November 2, 2004) AND INTERIM DEPUTY CLERK <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF ACCEPTING AFFIDAVITS OF CANDIDACY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Minnesota State Statute 204B.21, subd. 2, the City Council of the City ofCenterviIle <br />must select and appoint election judges for the upcoming Primmy (September 14, 2004) and General <br />(November 2, 2004) elections; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Clerk has advertised for individuals interested in serving in the capacity of election judge, <br />contacted individuals provided by the County through lists from both the Republican and Democratic parties, <br />utilized previously appointed judges or a combination of all to compile the list below of those that Council will <br />consider appointing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, all of the listed individuals are required to receive training either in the capacity of head judge (3 <br />hours) or election judge (2 hours) as required by Minnesota State Statute 204B.25 and if any of the individuals <br />listed below are not trained, the Election AdministratorlHead Judge has the duty and responsibility to not allow <br />that individual to serve in the capacity of head judge or election judge; and <br /> <br />Lisa Atkins <br />Marcia Bartels <br />Teresa Bender (Head Judge) <br />Joyce Dupre <br />Nancy FitzGerald <br /> <br />Joyce Gruber <br />Janis Hackman <br />CliffKath <br />David Osgood <br />Shirley Sager (Head Judge) <br /> <br />Irene Seashore <br />Kim Stephan <br />Shirley Sundquist <br />Mary Ann Thill <br />Anita Thompson <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Centerville will appoint Ms. Kim Stephan as interim Deputy Clerk for <br />the period of August 24, 2004 through September 7, 2004 for the sole purpose of accepting affidavits of <br />Candidacy if the City Clerk is absent from City offices; and <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />CENTERVILLE, MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1. Authorizes the Election AdministratorlHead Judge to deny an individual the opportunity to <br />serve as a Head Judge or Election Judge due to failure to receive proper training per <br />Minnesota State Statute 204B.25. <br />2. Appoints the above stated individuals for the primmy and general elections to serve in the <br />capacity of head judge or election judges if trained according to Minnesota State Statute <br />204B.25. <br />
