<br />General: Under Minnesou SUtute ~ 181.946, an Employee who works an average <br />of at least 20 hours per week and is a member of the civil air patrol is entitled to <br />leave. of absence without pay for time spent rendering service as a member of the <br />civil air patrol on the request and under the authority of the SUte or any of its <br />political subdivisions. The leave shall be granted unless the leave would unduly <br />disrupt the operations of the Employer. <br /> <br />9.11 Time Off to Vote <br /> <br />General: Under Minnesou SUtute 204C.04, every Employee who is eligible to vote. <br />in an election has the right to be absent from work for the purpose of voting during <br />the morning of the day of that election, without penalty or deduction from salary ot <br />wages because of the absence. <br /> <br />Elections Covered: For purposes of this section, "election" means a regularly <br />scheduled SUte primary or general election, an election to fill a vacancy in the office <br />of United SUtes Senator or United SUtes Represenutive, or an election to fill a <br />vacancy in the office of SUte Senator or SUte Representative. <br /> <br />9.12 Leave for Adoptive Parents <br /> <br />General: Under Minnesou SUtute ~ 181.92, Employees shall, upon request, be <br />granted a minimum of four weeks off, without pay, for the adoption of a child. The <br />period of time off shall begin before, or at the time of, the child's placement in the <br />adoptive parent's home, and shall be for the putpose of arranging the child's <br />placement or caring for the child after placement. An Employee may choose to use <br />accrued personal leave for all or a portion of the adoption leave. <br /> <br />9.13 Sick or Injured Child Care Leave <br /> <br />General: Under Minnesota SUtute ~ 181.9413, Employees may use personal leave <br />benefits provided by the City for absences due to an illness of or injury to the <br />Employee's child for such reasonable periods as the Employee's attendance with the <br />child may be necessary, on the same terms the Employee is able to use sick leave <br />benefits for the Employee's own illness or injury. <br /> <br />10. TEMPORARY LIGHT DUTY POLICY <br /> <br />10.1 Application <br /> <br />Temporarily Disabled: Consistent with public service needs, the City may assign <br />light duty to employees who ate temporatily disabled and unable to provide full <br />performance of all work duties assigned to their job classification. The City reserves <br />the sole right to determine, on a case-by-case basis, whether light duty will be <br />assigned and, if assigned, what duties the employee will be expected to perform in <br />the duration of the assignment. <br /> <br />24 <br />
