<br />MONTEVIDEO CITY CODE - TIlLE 6 <br /> <br />6-2-1: LIMITED PARKING: <br /> <br />From October 15 to April 15 of every year it is unlawful for any <br />person to continuously park for <br /> <br />more than twenty four (24) hours, or cause to remain continuously <br />for more than twenty four (24) hours, on any street or highway <br />within the City, any automobile or other motor vehicle whether or <br />not such vehicle is in a condition permitting it to be operated. Any <br />such vehicle which is parked or permitted to remain on any street <br />or highway within the City for more than forty eight (48) hours <br />may be removed by the City, or someone authorized so to do by a <br />contract with the City, and impounded and released or disposed of <br />pursuant to Minnesota Statutes section 168B.Ol et seq., relating to <br />abandoned vehicles. From April 15 to October 15 of every year it <br />is unlawful for any person to continuously park for more than forty <br />eight (48) hours, or cause to remain continuously for more than <br />forty eight (48) hours, on any street or highway within the City, <br />any automobile or other motor vehicle whether or not such vehicle <br />is in a condition permitting it to be operated. Any such vehicle <br />which is parked or permitted to remain on any street or highway <br />within the City for more than seventy two (72) hours may be <br />removed by the City, or someone authorized so to do by a contract <br />with the City, and impounded and released or disposed of pursuant <br />to Minnesota Statutes section 168B.OI et seq., relating to <br />abandoned vehicles. Any vehicle so impounded shall not be <br />released until towing and storage charges have been paid. The <br />payment of such towing and storage charges shall not relieve any <br />person from paying a fine for such illegal parking which may be <br />imposed by the court (Ord. 589,9-20-1982; amd. 1998 Code) <br /> <br />6-2-2: CERTAIN VEmCLES RESTRICTED WITHIN <br />RESIDENTIAL AREAS: <br /> <br />Except where necessary for loading and unloading or for <br />construction or other temporary work, no person shall park or <br />cause to remain on any street or highway within any residential <br />area of the City any truck, truck tractor, trailer or other vehicle <br />with a capacity of more than one ton. (Ord. 471, 2-18-1975) <br /> <br />6-2-3: SCHOOL ZONES: <br /> <br />The Chief of Police is authorized to designate no-parking zones on <br />property open to the public owned by Independent School District <br />No. 129, and to have such zones identified with "No Parking" <br />signs. Such zones shall be at locations approved by the school <br />district, and shall be where parking would impede the flow of <br />traffic or obstruct access by fire or other emergency vehicles.
