Stepan <br /> <br />TO; Acting Chief Makela <br /> <br />RE: Metrocount Data from Center St. as requested by Centerville City Hall <br /> <br />DATE: 10/23/2004 <br /> <br />Bob, as requested, I have completed half of the requested survey of the Center St! <br />Pheasant Ln area. Attached you will frod the results of the survey from Center St. The <br />data was collected about y, a block west of Pheasant Ln. As you can see, 27.8% of the <br />3667 cars surveyed were above the posted 30mph speed limit. This figure however is <br />somewhat misleading. 20% of the total number of vehicles were between 30-35mph with <br />a majority of those under 33mph. This means that only 7.8% were over 35mph.. Only <br />1.4% were over 4Omph. I do not feel that this is a drastic speed issue for this area as <br />other sUrveys completed have found areas where over 45% of the vehicles were over the <br />posted speed limit with an average of about 8% that were 10 or more mph over the posted <br />limit. This area does not seem to have a reasonable concern of speeding vehicles. I <br />would not suggest lidding any special orders to any specific shifts regarding extra patrol <br />of this area. <br /> <br />I will next be setting up the system on Pheasant Ln south of Center St. Once that survey <br />is complete, I will compile that data with the Center St. Data included in this memo and <br />create a comprehensive report for Centerville City Hall. <br />
