<br />City of Centerville <br />January 14, 2004 <br />Council Meeting Minutes <br /> <br />Council advised Mr. Gleason to go to Lino Lakes and discuss it with them but said the <br />City would not be interested ifLino is not willing to go along with the proposal. <br /> <br />VI. PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />vn. NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />1. Dredging of Hardwood Estates Pond <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated that the City is going to begin its maintenance on ponds this year <br />beginning with the Hardwood Estates Pond. He then explained the plan for excavating <br />the pond and reseeding the edge. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney explained that the culvert under Brian Way flows backwards because it <br />is higher on one end then the other. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson said that the pipe fills up because the pond is so full of sediment. He then <br />said that the culvert should be lowered but that should be done at the same time as the <br />one under nDd He also indicated that there is positive flow toward the pond but the <br />water has trouble going north. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra asked if the Eagle Pass pond was being cleaned. <br /> <br />Ms. Moore-Sykes indicated that Rice Creek was to do so and bill the developer. <br /> <br />2. 2004 Residential Street Imorovement Feasibility Study <br /> <br />Council Member Capra expressed surprise that residents are assessed at 75% for the curb <br />and gutter. She also asked how the assessments for comer lots are determined. <br /> <br />Mr. Peterson indicated the policy is per lineal front foot on the short side plus 20% of the <br />long side for comer lots. He then said that the assessment will be reduced slightly <br />because he had used one and a half times. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers asked that Staff have the loan information available <br />at the public information meeting as well as information as to the dollar amount per <br />thousand borrowed for residents to consider. <br /> <br />Council asked that there be an overhead with the information for review at the public <br />information meeting as well as numerous copies of the feasibility study. <br /> <br />Mayor Sweeney questioned the LaMotte Park assessment as some of the preparation has <br />been done. <br /> <br />Page 4 of9 <br />
