<br />, ' <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />STATE OF l\1INNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />CITY OF CENTERVlLLE <br /> <br />ORDINANCE #75 <br /> <br />AN INTERIM ORDINANCE ADOPTING A MORATORIUM ON <br />SLAUGHTERHOUSEIBUTCHER SHOP OPERATION(S) IN ANY ZONING <br />DISTRICT WITHIN THE CITY OF CENTERVlLLE <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Centerville ordains as follows: <br /> <br />DEFINITIONS <br /> <br />For the purpose of this Ordinance the terms defined in this Section have the meanings <br />given them. <br /> <br />"Butcher" a person who kills, dresses or cuts and packages meat for the purpose of sale. <br /> <br />"Butcher/Slaughter House" a place/facility where animals are butchered/slaughtered for <br />food. <br /> <br />"Custom" social conventions carried on by tradition. <br /> <br />"Deity" a state of being a god; a god or goddess. <br /> <br />"Meat Processing" the act of cutting, packaging and displaying of any animal or carcass <br />of an animal(s). <br /> <br />"Official Controls" means ordinance and regulations which control the physical <br />development of the City, including air space and subsurface areas necessary for mined <br />underground space development pursuant to Minnesota Statute 469.135 to 469.141, or <br />any detail thereof and implement the general objectives of the Comprehensive Plan. <br />Official controls include ordinances establishing zoning, subdivision controls, site plan <br />regulations, sanitary codes, building codes and official maps. <br /> <br />"Rite" a ceremonial, solemn act, as in religious use. <br /> <br />"Ritual" a set form or system of rites, religious or otherwise. <br /> <br />"Sacrifice" an offering, as of a life or object to a deity or giving up on one thing for the <br />sake of another. <br /> <br />"Slaughter" the killing of animals for food. <br />
