OAK BROOK, ILLINOIS 60521
(312) 986-1700

Mr. Robert L. LaMotte
Secretary. Lions Club
1688 Heritage Street
Centervi11e. Minnesota

Dear Lion LaMotte:

August 27.

The aharter ot your club is now considered complete with 32
Charter members. and a list of these members is enclo~ed. This
list will be the authority tor issuing charter chevrons ten yea
from now. PLEASE ADVISE BY RETURN MAIL, IF THERE ARE ANY CHANGE
IN THE SPELLING OF NAMES AND/OR ADDRESSES. THERE WILL BE NO AD-
DITIONS OR DELETIONS FROM THIS CHARTER ROSTER IN ACCORDANCE WI~J
LIONS INTERNATIONAL BOARD POLICY.

Now that your charter membership roster is complete. your
club will be aocepting new members. In view of this. your club
should decide upon the amount of your membership or initiation
ree to be paid by each member accepted. and incorporate it in
your Constitution'and By-Laws. Our suggestion is that it should
not be leas than $10.00. which is the prevailing membership fee
throughout the Association and in keeping with the fees ask~d by
si~1iar c1ubs in your community. A proper fee will command res
pect. Under International Board directive. $10.00 of the member
Ship tee collected by your club shall be remitted to Lions Inter
national as an entrance ree for new members. The remainder of
the membership fee is retained in the club treasury.

The annual membership dues of your club shOUld not be less
than the minimum required by the International Constitution and
By-Laws. or $15.00;l er member, billed preferably sem1-annually
in advance. The International per capita is pro-rated on new
members and begins the first of the month in which the new membe
1s accepted by your club. (See special form ~ttached)

Lars. H. Larson. your District Governor. assumes the res-
ponsibilty ot visiting your club once each year on inVitation.
At this time he goes over all local phases of the club's work a~
is in a position to g1ve you the benefit of his knowledge and e~
per1ence in the work of Lionism. As you probably have already
note4. he sho~ld receive copies of the monthly reports which en-
~ble him to keep up-to-date records of your membership and actlv
ties. Many governors make the information contained in these
reports the basis or their monthly letters to the clubs. which
stimulate interest in the District and promote greater harmony
among the clubs under his leadership.

Very cordially yours.

I~~~
MemberShip Billing Department
LIONS IN'l'EJ'mATIONAL

EJZ ;1II1;c
Enol.
cc: D1st.Gov.Larson.5-Ml
cc: Pres.
