E~/tl &/'1 ~

.

January 25, 2002

Mr. Paul Palzer
City of Centerville
1880 Main Street
Centerville, MN 55038

RE: Clear Water Meadows Swale
File No. 616-GEN

Dear Paul,

Per your request we have investigated the swale in !he back yards.of Brian Court in !he Clear
Water Meadows Addition. If a culvert is installed the following recommendations are made for
your consideration.

1. The home at 7016 Brian Court is !he controlling factor of the swales emergency
overflow elevation. This will require the fill above the culvert to remain a
minimum 1.5 feet lower than !he walk out elevation at 7016 Brian Court. Also a
1.5' minimum cover of soil over the top of the pipe is necessary.

2. The minimum required culvert size should be a 12" HDPE culvert installed at 1 %
grade and placed at !he existing elevation of the swale. A flatter sloped culvert
will require a 15" diameter pipe.

3. The city should inspect the two items listed above, upon completion of the culvert
installation and filling of the swale.

Please call me at 651-604-4808 if there are any questions or concerns.

Very truly yours,
BONESTROO, ROSENE, ANDERUK & ASSOCIATES, INC.

Daniel S. Schluender

cc: Tom Peterson
