<br />WHEREAS, Victory Sports has indicated that it is seeking to charge Corncast over $2.00 <br />per basic serVice subscriber for the carriage of its programming; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Victory Sports has stated that it is unwilling to place its programming on any <br />service tier other than the basic service tier; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Commission finds that the carriage of all major local sporting events on <br />Comcast's cable system is a need and interest of the Member Cities' subscnbers. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the North Metro Telecommunications <br />Commission as follows: <br /> <br />1. That the Commission opposes any carriage agreement between Corncast and Victory <br />Sports One that would directly or indirectly result in an increase in basic service rates <br />in the Member Cities; and . <br /> <br />2. That the Commission hereby strongly encourages Comcast and Victory Sports One <br />to work diligently to: (i) reach a mutually acceptable carriage agreement that will <br />not directly or indirectly increase basic service rates in the Member Cities; or (ii) <br />enter into other appropriate arrangements for the carriage of local sports <br />programming currently owned or licensed by Victory Sports One, provided such <br />arrangements do not directly or indirectly increase basic serVice rates in the Member <br />Cities. <br /> <br />PASSED, ADOPTED AND ISSUED this 17"11 day of March, 2004. <br /> <br />NORTH METRO TELECOMMUNICATIONS <br />COMMISSION <br /> <br />By: <br /> <br />tiY-/~~ <br /> <br />Its Chair <br /> <br />Attest: #~~ <br /> <br />Vice-Chair <br /> <br />G:\NOJ1b Metro lOO29\Resoluti.oos\ReSobJti.ao."
