MEMO

DATE:

November 9,2001

TO:

Mayor and Councilmembers

FROM:

Kim Moore-Sykes

RE:

Zoning Map Modifications

I~~gg.~..~ag~g...g...~.......~...~a~..~.....u...........~...P.............a.

The Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed the Zoning Map modifications as
submitted by Bonestroo, Rosene, Anderlik & Associates and is forwardiog it to COlll1cil
for review. Several comments were received by the Commission regardiog the need to
delete the C-l Zoning District. Many felt that if this zoning designation was removed,
then developers would be free to develop wetlands and creek areas. The residents were
advised that these areas are also governed by the DNR, Rice Creek Watershed District
and the City's Flood PlanIFlood Way re~<;tions. They were also told that both the
City's Ordinance or Comprehensive PIailJill,fe this designation as part of the City's
Zoning District schedule.
