Forwarded to Council Members
Via e-mail on 211101 at 2:46 p.m.

~

Motion bv Council Member Broussard Vickers. seconded bv Council Member
Nelson to approve the al!:enda with the requested addition. All in favor. Motion
carried unanimouslv.

III. PUBLIC HEARING (8)

1. Lloyd Drilling

Mayor Swedberg opened the tabled public hearing from the previous meeting at 6:10
p.m.

Mr. Drilling submitted drawings of the site plan for the proposed strip mall to be located
at 1873 Main Street. The site plan showed the exterior colors of the building. Mr.
Drilling also submitted a picture of a sample fence to be used to house the garbage
receptacle. Mr. Drilling stated that the fence is to be chain link with screening. Mr.
Drilling also stated that the trailway would be built to County specifications as requested
by Council.

Mr. Drilling explained he would like to build a three (3) foot berm rather than the
previously discussed four (4) foot berm to aid in drainage and maintenance. There would
be a six (6) foot fence on top of the berm. Mr. Drilling expressed willingness to match
the northwest neighbor's fence if the neighbor desires.

Mr. Drilling showed pictures of the trees currently located on the site and indicated if the
County allows, the trees will remain in place; however, if the County requests that the
trees be moved, they will be moved to the northwest corner of the property. If the
County does not allow the trees to stay then five (5) or six (6) foot evergreens would be
installed on the site. Mr. Drilling explained that evergreens are a typical landscaping
tree.

Mr. Drilling stated the building would have an exterior, brick front with metal siding.

Council Member Capra questioned the location of the signs for the businesses. Mr.
Drilling stated that signage would be located along the front of the building in the three
(3) foot space provided. Signage would be handled similar to that of the current strip
mall.

Mayor Swedberg questioned the type of signage that would be installed. Mr. Drilling
stated that the current strip mall has uniform signage with the exception of the daycare.
Mr. Drilling explained that the type of retailer in the space typically dictates signage,
however, all signage would be backlit.

Mr. Peterson indicated Mr. Drilling has met the contingencies for the site plan as outlined
in Mr. Peterson's letter to the City.

Mr. Hoeft indicated final site plan approval needs to be subject to Mr.' Peterson's
approval and subject to an approved Developer's Agreement. Mayor Swedberg indicated
he would like to see deciduous trees placed in front of the building rather than

L
