Lloyd Drilling - Site Plan <br /> <br />Mayor Swedberg opened the public hearing at 6:08 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Drilling gave a brief overview of the submitted site plan for the proposed strip mall <br />located at 1873 Main Street. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson questioned whether the pile of dirt currently located on the site <br />would be used for the berm. Mr. Drilling stated that a portion of the dirt may be used for <br />the berm. Council Member Nelson questioned whether the fence would be located on top <br />of the berm. Mr. Drilling concurred. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson questioned whether the trail location met with the approval of <br />the Rice Creek Watershed District. Mr. Drilling stated that the proposed project does not <br />require Rice Creek Watershed District approval. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson questioned whether Mr. Drilling had spoken with the Parks and <br />Recreation Committee concerning the trail. Mr. Drilling stated that the trail way would <br />comply with City requirements. <br /> <br />Council Member Capra questioned the size of the buffer to be located on the north <br />portion of the property or proposed development. Mr. Drilling stated that there was a six <br />(6) foot area between the building and the neighboring property. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson questioned whether anything would be done with the trail on the <br />west side of the property. Mr. Drilling stated that modifications to the trail in that area <br />would need to be done with the permission of Anoka County and Rice Creek Watershed <br />District. <br /> <br />Mr. Bruce Luikart, 7130 Peterson Trail, questioned whether the ditch would be filled in <br />along the west side of the property. Mr. Drilling concurred subject to Anoka County and <br />Rice Creek Watershed District's permission. <br /> <br />Council Member Broussard Vickers questioned whether Mr. Drilling had determined the <br />types of materials and colors for the exterior of the building. Mr. Drilling provided a <br />drawing showing the front of the building being brick with lighter colored siding on the <br />top. Mr. Drilling stated that for maintenance purposes, an entire brick front would be <br />desired. <br /> <br />Mr. March stated that Mr. Drilling had yet to provide a grading plan to Mr. Hoeft. Mr. <br />March explained that Mr. Drilling's submission for site plan approval lacked several <br />required submissions prior to receiving Council's approval or denial. Mr. March stated <br />subsequent to the lack of the required submissions, Council is unable to approve or deny <br />same. <br /> <br />Page 2 of18 <br />
