Good News! Building plans were submitted to City Hall yesterday for a new industrial
building in the Royal Industrial Park. Chicilo Homes is planning to build an approximate
12,000 square foot decorative block building on Lot 5. Their home building business would
occupy approximately 6,000 square feet and the remainder of the building would be
available for lease. They would like to break ground by mid-January. I have placed this
site plan on the next planning and zoning agenda. I propose the public hearing to be held
at the second Council meeting in January. This building should be a welcome addition to
both the Industrial Park and the local tax base. Mr. Chicilo mentioned that Royal Oaks
Realty has also sold the lot next to Lot 5.

. The generator has been installed on the pad in the back of City Hall. It should be fully
operational in the near future. Once the generator is fully installed, the City Hall will be
able to function as an emergency command center for any local disaster that we may have
to face. Hopefully, we will never have to use this generator. Half of the cost for the
generator is being paid for through charitable gambling proceeds from the Centennial Fire
District pulltab operation.

* I have been told that the ice skating rinks are being well used so far this year. The first
date for a community skating night has not been determined.

* Snow removal in the downtown area has become a problem. The street right-of-ways are
so narrow that the County is plowing snow from Main Street and Centerville Road onto
private property. J am working on a solution with Anoka County.

* The Centerville Lions have set February 10th as the date for an adult and youth ice
fishing tournament on Centerville Lake. We are also discussing holding "Golf on Ice" the
same day. This could be the start of our Winter Carnival. Who can we find to build us a
small ice castle?

* The Centerville Lion's will be holding their annual "Cadillac Dinner" on February 24th at

12/21/00
