<br />Mr. Tom Lee (7179 Brian Dr.) also stayed for the remainder of the meeting, commented <br />that not only the youth will use the skate park, adults will also use it. <br /> <br />CONSIDERATION OF MINUTES <br /> <br />February 7. 2001 Parks and Recreation Committee Meetinfl Minutes <br /> <br />Motion by Mr. LeBlanc, seconded by Mr. WaIter to approve the February 7, 2001 <br />Parks and Recreation Meeting Minutes. All in favor. Motion carried unanimously. <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />Budget Fil!llfes / Re-assessment <br />Tabled <br /> <br />YMCA - Status ofDav Camp <br />Ms. Lien explained she had spoke with Mr. Silvemess on February 15th regarding the <br />status of the Day Camp Program. At that time, he had informed her that the brochure <br />(proof) was to be back from the printer that same day, or on the 16th. Since Mr. <br />Silvemess was out of the office on March 2nd, Ms. Lien spoke with Katie Kubic, his <br />assistant. Ms. Kubic informed Ms. Lien that they are in negotiations with the printer over <br />the fues. Ms. Kubic stated they have an "On- Site Director" lined up for the daily <br />activities. The dates will run from Monday, June 11 th - Friday, August 17th (not open on <br />July 4~. The hours are from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., with extended hours from 6:30- <br />9:00 a.m. and again from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. The age requirements are from 6 - 10 years <br />old. They are also looking at options for bus pick-up at Rice Lake Elementary, Forest <br />Lake and City HalL More information will follow at the April meeting. <br /> <br />Skate Park Insurance Issues <br />Tabled <br /> <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment <br />Ms. Lien explained that Ground Development requested a MUSA swap and <br />Comprehensive Plan Amendment at the City Council meeting held on February 28, 200 I. <br />The City Council approved the MUSA swap and the Comp Plan Amendment. Mr. March <br />will be contacting Dean Johnson of Resource Strategies for consultation. The City will <br />need to hold a public hearing and then submit the Comp Plan Amendment request to Met <br />Council for final approval. <br /> <br />Earth Day <br />Mr. Walter distributed a memo to the Committee explaining some ofthe activities <br />planned for Earth Day. The list entailed the following: <br />1. Goetz will be donating a blend of wildflower seeds in individually wrapped <br />bags. <br />2. Patricia Scott is pricing plastic bags with handles. <br /> <br />4 <br />
