- April 3, 2001 Planning & Zoning Conlmission Meeting Minutes making it difficult for the City to have a sign removed. The new ordinance should be easier to enfurce. Chairperson Hanson questioned if a business were to change the copy on a non- complying sign, would the sign then have to be brought into compliance. Mr. March stated he would contact the City Attorney in that regard. Mr. March stated that if a new business came to town and was proposing signage on all four sides of the building, the Commission could amend the ordinance. Chairperson Hanson questioned whether painted signs were covered in the ordinance. Mr. March reviewed the section of the ordinance pertaining to same. Motion bv Commissioner DeVine. seconded bv Commissioner Kilian to close the public heann!!. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. Chairperson Hanson closed the public hearing at 6:53 p.IIt DU. APPEAJtANCES None. IV. OLD BUSINESS None. V. NEW BUSINESS 1. Ordinance #39 (Signage) Chairperson Hanson stated he would prefer to forward Ordinance #39 to Council and amend it later if needed. Motion bv Commissioner McLean. seconded bv Commissioner DeVine to recommend Council approve Ordinance #39 as amended. All in favor. Motion carried unanimouslv. 2. Comprehensive Plan Amendments Mr. March requested that the Commission review the proposed modifications to the Comprehensive Plan and contact him with comments or questions. Mr. March also requested that the Commission notifY him if they need to obtain a copy of the Comprehensive Plan. Mr. March stated that the main reason the City is amending the Comprehensive Plan is to accommodate the request by the developer of Pheasant Marsh, Ground Development. Page 2 of 4
