<br />MEMO <br /> <br />DATE: September I, 2000 <br /> <br />TO Planning Commission <br /> <br />FROM: Jim March <br /> <br />RE : Attached letter from Roger Shimon, 1751 Peltier Lake Drive <br /> <br />............................................................................ <br /> <br />I met with the gentleman that wrote the attached letter on Friday morning. He is <br />concerned about an electric fence that exists on the north side ofhis property. His <br />property is adjacent to an approximate 14 acre parcel that is zoned R-I Rural Residential <br />and is owned by John and Sanna Buckbee. <br /> <br />Mr. Shimon plans to appear at the Planning Commission meeting. He would like to <br />address amending the zoning ordinance to include a buffer for this type offencing <br />between R-I and other residential districts. Mr. Shimon feels that he should not be <br />forced to construct a fence because his neighbor decides to put up an electric fence. <br /> <br />I spoke to Mr. John Buckbee in regards to this issue. Mr. Buckbee indicated that he <br />might have intentions to expand the pasture area for his horses on his own property. The <br />electric fence would be approximately 8' off of the property line. <br /> <br />The newly adopted Ordinance #4 allows electric and barb wired fencing only on property <br />zoned R-I Rural Residential. There is no n1entlon of a buffer zone or setb8.cks n~qt:.ired <br />for this type of fencing. <br />
