Interviews are being conducted today with eleven candidates for the position of
receptionist. The City received thirty-three applicants for this position. It was very difficult
to narrow the field of applicants for the interview process and I assume it will be a difficult
decision to make a recommendation for the selected applicant. All of our interview
applicants have previous receptionist experience. The interview panel will be making a
recommendation to Council at the next meeting.

. The City Council's from Centerville, Lexington and Circle Pines met last night at
Lexington City Hall. The meeting was held to discuss the Centennial Lakes Police
Department 2001 budget. The City's each agreed to spend $5000 to make the necessary
name, logo and badge changes to implement the new name of the police department.

. We have received twenty-four applications so far for the public works vacancy. Many of
the candidates appear to be well qualified for the position and already carry the appropriate
water and sewer licenses. We expect to interview for this position early next week.

. I spoke to a Mr. Dennis Vanhannen this week. Mr. Vanhannen is a representative from
the firm of Trudell Trailers of MN. Mr. Vanhannen is considering purchasing 10-12 acres of
land in the Industrial Park. They would like to build a 20,000-25,000 square foot
office/shop building. They are strictly in the business of selling new semi-trailers, not semi-
tractors. They currently have buildings in Green Bay, Milwaukee and Chicago. They are
currently leasing space in Rogers, MN. They plan to build a facility in the metro area and a
building in the Fargo area by next year.

. There is a Fete des Lacs committee meeting next Monday evening. If you have not
volunteered to help in some capacity, it is time for you to contact Ray Devine in regards to
this matter before he randomly assigns you to an undesirable task.
