If anyone missed my Week in Review, it is because I have been out of the office. My
father was in the hospital for thirteen days. We were told by one surgeon that there was
nothing they could do for him. We found another surgeon that said he could perform the
surgery on the clot in his neck. After the surgery, the surgeon told us that he would have
died that day without the surgery. It's a miracle that my father is now home and is expected
to make a full recovery. Thank you to all of those that thought of myself and my family
during my absence.

. A lot has happened in the last two weeks. The trail has been subcut in LaMotte Park.
They are actually paving the trail this morning. I stopped at the park this morning and the
trail looks great. The soccer fields have been striped and the goals have been placed on
the two fields. The park is continuing to develop according to plans.

. The public works employees are preparing the base and placing the timbers in Royal
Meadows Park this morning for the new playground equipment. The playground equipment
is scheduled to be installed in a couple of weeks.

. We have registrations for approximately 100+ garage sales this weekend. We have had
five additional calls so far this morning. The maps are being printed this afternoon.

. There is a Fete des Lacs meeting at 6:30 this Thursday. The plans are continuing to be
finalized. An additional $1500 in donations has been received since the last meeting.
However, we are still actively seeking additional donations. A final request letter is going to
be sent out this Friday.

. The business appreciation dinner is scheduled for next week Tuesday. We will be
setting up the Lion's tent in the back of City Hall. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate.

5/] 5/00
