<br />Steep Slope - Land where agricultural activity or development is either not recommended
<br />or described as poorly suited due to slope steepness and the site's soil characteristics, as
<br />mapped and described in available county soil surveys or other technical reports, unless
<br />appropriate design and construction techniques and farming practices are used in
<br />accordance with the provision of this ordinance. Where specific information is not
<br />available, steep slopes are land having average slopes over twelve percent (12%), as
<br />measured over horizontal distances of fifty (50) feet or more. '.
<br />
<br />Street Access - A public thoroughfare, which affords the principal means of abutting land.
<br />
<br />Street Line - The legal line of demarcation between a street and abutting land.
<br />
<br />Structure - Anything constructed or erected, the use which requires a location on the
<br />ground, or attached to something having a location on the ground, or an attachment to
<br />something having a fixed location on the ground; including, in addition to buildings,
<br />billboards, carports, porches, and other building features, but not including sidewalks,
<br />drives, swing-sets, enclosed play structures under fifty (50) square feet, fences and patios.
<br />
<br />Structural Alteration - Any change in the supporting members of a building, such as
<br />bearing walls, columns, beams, or girders.
<br />
<br />Subdivision - The separation of an area, parcel or tract of land under single ownership into
<br />two or more parcels, tracts, lots, or long-term leasehold interests where the creation of the
<br />leasehold interest, necessitates the creation of streets, roads, or alleys, for residential,
<br />commercial, industrial, or other uses or any combination thereof, except those separations:
<br />
<br />A. Where all the resulting parcels, tracts, lots, or interests will be twenty
<br />(20) acres or larger in size and five hundred (500) feet in width for
<br />residential uses and five (5) acres or larger in size for commercial and
<br />industrial uses; and
<br />
<br />B. Creating cemetery lots; and
<br />
<br />C. Resulting from court orders, or the adjustment of a lot line by the
<br />relocation of a common boundary. The purpose or activity for which
<br />the land or building thereon is designed, arranged, or intended, or for
<br />which it is occupied or maintained and shall include any manner of
<br />performance of such activity with respect to the performance
<br />standards of this ordinance.
<br />
<br />Supply Yard - A commercial establishment storing or offering for sale building supplies,
<br />steel supplies, coal, heavy equipment, feed and grain, and similar goods. Supply yards do
<br />not include the wrecking, salvaging, dismantling or storage of automobiles and similar
<br />vehicles.
<br />
<br />Townhouse - Single-family, attached units in structures housing three or more continuous
<br />dwelling units, sharing a common wall, each having separate and individual front and rear
