<br />NOT APPROVED <br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />JANUARY 4, 2000 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City <br />ofCenterville held its regularly scheduled meeting at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Commission member Brian Hanson <br />Commission member AI LaMotte <br />Commission member Ray DeVine <br />Commission member John McLean <br />Commission member Rob Sheppard <br />Commission member David Kilian <br /> <br />ABSENT: Chairperson Kathy Welk <br /> <br />Staff members present: Jim March, City Administrator. Council member Linda <br />Broussard Vickers was in attendance as the Council liaison. <br /> <br />............................................................................ <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Acting chairperson LaMotte called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />Acting chairperson A. LaMotte opened the public hearing. <br /> <br />Mr. Lloyd Drilling discussed that he would like to determine the Commission's interest <br />in the possibility of rezoning the property located at 1873 Main Street. There is an <br />existing home on the property that Mr. Drilling estimates was built in the late 1800's. <br />Mr. Drilling would like to demolish the existing house and have the property rezoned to <br />commercial pending an approved site plan. Mr. Drilling indicated that he would like to <br />build a commercial/retail center with units available for lease. <br /> <br />Mr. Drilling indicated that he would continue to propose an access on Main Street and an <br />access to Peterson Trail. Mr. Drilling did not envision an access on to Shad Avenue. <br /> <br />Mr. Drilling commented that an existing construction easement would have to be vacated <br />along with rerouting an existing drain tile. Mr. Drilling stated that there is a lack of <br />commercial property in the community in his opinion. <br />
