<br />. <br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br />CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 12,2000 <br />6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />NOT <br />APPROVED <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, the City Council of Centerville held their regularly scheduled <br />meeting on January 12, 2000, at City Hall, 1880 Main Street. <br /> <br />PRESENT: Mayor Tom Wilharber <br />Council Member Dick Travis <br />Council Member Terry Sweeney <br />Council Member Linda Broussard Vickers <br />Council Member Mari Nelson <br /> <br />STAFF: City Administrator, Jim March <br />City Attorney, Jim Hoeft <br />City Engineer, Tom Peterson <br /> <br />I. CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber called the January 12, 2000 City Council meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />II. PUBLIC HEARING (S) <br /> <br />Llovd Drilling Re-Zone Request <br /> <br />Mr. Drilling explained to the Council he is interested in submitting a site plan that proposes a <br />retail/office type structure to be built on the property located at 1873 Main Street. The property is <br />currently zoned (R2) Single Family Residential. Mr. Drilling is requesting the property be <br />rezoned to (CI) Commercial. Mr. Drilling feels the development would be good for the City as a <br />whole. Mr. Drilling questioned the Council on their feelings toward the rezone/structure idea. <br /> <br />Jeff Turner of71 57 Peterson Trail was present. Mr. Turner questioned driveway placement on <br />Peterson Trail. Mr. Turner indicated he is not in favor of having additional traffic usage on <br />Peterson Trail. Mr. Drilling mentioned he needs access to his lot. Mr. Turner indicated he felt <br />Mr. Drilling's proposal was not fair. <br /> <br />Council Member Nelson asked about having an access on Peterson Trail and Shad Avenue. <br />Mr. Drilling indicated he would propose an access to the structure from Shad Avenue as well as <br />Peterson Trail and indicated he would maintain the access on Main Street. Council Member <br />Broussard Vickers thought an access on both roads was better for traffic flow. <br /> <br />Mayor Wilharber felt the rezone was a favorable idea. Council Members Nelson and Sweeney <br />agreed. Council Member Broussard Vickers felt that the concept fits into the "scheme of things". <br /> <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />
