<br />( <br /> <br />Subd. 9. Alteration. Any change, addition, or modification, in construction or occupancy <br />of an existing structure. <br /> <br />Subd. 10. Alteration. Structural. Any change in the supporting members of a building or <br />structure, such as bearing walls, columns, beams, or girders; provided, however, <br />the application of any exterior siding to an existing building for 1he purpose of <br />beautifying and modernizing shall not be considered a structural alteration. <br /> <br />Subd. II. Antenna. Any system of wires, poles, rods, reflecting discs, satellite dishes, or <br />similar devises used for the transmission or reception of electromagnetic waves <br />external to or attached to the exterior of any building. <br /> <br />Subd. 12. Apartment. A room or suite of rooms, including bath and kitchen facilities, in a <br />multiple-family building designed for occupancy by a single family. <br /> <br />Subd. 13. Apartment. Accessorv. An apartment that is secondary and incidental to a <br />principal use or building. <br /> <br />Subd. 14. Apartment Building. A freestanding sign which identifies the name of a ( <br />residential subdivision, commercial or industrial development. See Subd. 72, <br />Freestanding Sign. <br /> <br />Subd. 16. Auto Repair. Rebuilding, reconditioning, reconstructing, repairing or replacing <br />worn or damaged motor vehicle parts. <br /> <br />Subd. 17. Automobile Service Station. See Motor Fuel Station, Subd. 107. <br /> <br />Subd. 18. Balconv. A platform projecting from a wall of a building, enclosed by a railing, <br />and elevated at least seven (7) feet above ground. <br /> <br />Subd. 19. Basement. A portion ofa building located partly or completely underground, <br />having more than 50% of its floor-to-ceiling height below the average grade of <br />the adjoining ground. Split level, split entry, and earth sheltered homes shall be <br />construed to satisfy basement requirements. <br /> <br />Subd. 20. Block. A tract of land bounded by streets or a combination of streets, parks, <br />cemeteries, railroad rights-of-way, shorelines, waterways, or corporate boundary <br />lines of the City. <br /> <br />Subd. 21. Boathouse. A structure designed and used solely for the storage of boats or ( <br />boating equipment. , <br /> <br />Subd.22. Boulevard.
