<br />,. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Effective: 4/23/97 <br />City ofCenterville Ord. #63 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> <br />CITY OF CENTERVILLE <br /> <br />ORDINANCE #63 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE INITIATING AND IMPLEMENTING A LAWN AND GARDEN WATER <br />USE PROGRAM TO CONTROL WATER USE DURING PERIODS OF PEAK USE AND <br />WATER CONSERV A nON THEREBY CONSERVE WATER IN THE Ml. TTER OF THE <br />COMPREHENSIVE "'.\TER SUPPLY PLAN PROJECT OF 1997. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City ofCenteryille has recently reviewed and approved the Comprehensive Water <br />Supply Plan; and <br />WHERE-A.S, the City ofCel!terville has directed that the Comprehensive Water Supply plan Be <br />submitted for re'/ieVl' BY the Minnesota Derartment ofNatmal Resources and Metropolitan <br />Council; and <br />WHEREf.S, a component of the Comprehensive Water Slipr1y Plan incllides a recommendation to <br />restrict ',vater use to conserve water. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City ofCenterville, Minnesota, does ordain: <br /> <br />Lawn and garden watering is prohibited between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. every <br />year from May I through September I for all addresses on all days. This ordinance shall apply <br />only to those residents and water sources connected to the Centerville water system. Use of <br />private wells is exempt from this ordinance. <br /> <br />Residents whose address ends in an even number may water their lawns and gardens before <br />10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. only on even numbered days, and residents whose address ends in <br />an odd number may water their lawns and gardens before 10:00 a.m. and after 6:00 p.m. only on <br />odd numbered days. An residents may water their IlWlHs and gardens on an)' day after 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />No person shall use or permit water to be used in violation of this sprinkling ban and any <br />customer resident who does so shall be charged $50.00 for each day they are in efviolation of <br />this ordinance and the charge shall be added to the customer's next water bill. Continued <br />violation shall be cause for discontinuance of water service. which win result in a $25 I <br />disconnection fee and will be charged to vour next water bill. If water services are desired after <br />disconnection. a $25 re-connection fee will also be charged to vour next water bill. The City will <br />provide notice to esidents using the attached water restriction notice. Should a <br />violation occur, the Cit .
